A very agile diurnal snake. The front part of the body bears many small dark spots which are particularly prominent low on the flanks. It feeds on insects, lizards, rodents and sometimes birds. Harmless. 60-125 cm.
A subterranean and primarily nocturnal snake with a stocky cylindrical body, small abdominal scales, a stubby tail, small eyes, and a spade-shaped snout. It is found in dry sandy or rocky habitats. Harmless. 40-60 cm.
A small underground worm-like snake. It has a cylindrical body, small head and vestigial eyes. We rarely see it on the surface, except at night and on cloudy days. It feeds on small invertebrates, mainly ants. Harmless. 20-30 cm.
