The Pelasgus thesproticus is found in Albania and northeastern Greece, including the island of Corfu. Its natural habitat is slow-flowing rivers and marshes, and it is threatened by pollution and water abstraction. It was recorded in 1939 by Theodoros Stefanidis, the famous doctor, writer and naturalist, mentor of the Darrells.
