This is the largest lizard with limbs in our country. Body length up to 16cm with a tail twice the length of the body or more. The habitats it prefers vary. Diurnal and mainly terrestrial lizard. It feeds on invertebrates but also on smaller reptiles. Females lay 6-20 eggs in late spring or early summer which hatch after about a month. Despite its size, it is a completely harmless reptile.
