Body length up to 7cm without the tail, which is about twice as long. It is found in the wider area of the Adriatic, from sea level up to 1200m altitude, in a variety of habitats, often even within inhabited areas. Diurnal, agile lizard that often climbs. It is more easily observed in spring when it is basking, as in summer it usually avoids high temperatures and is active in the morning and late afternoon. Quite a timid lizard that hides quickly if threatened. It feeds on small invertebrates. Females lay 2-6 eggs at a time.
