Carob tree
Kermes oak
Latin Name: Quercus Ilex. The medicinal properties of this tree come from the high content of tannins, especially the amino acids it contains. Tannins help accelerate wound healing and perform hemostasis. As an astringent, it binds body tissues both internally and externally to treat bleeding and diarrhea, as well as hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and other skin conditions.
Holm oak can also be used to treat indigestion and intestinal inflammation.
