Anacamptis palustris
The name Anacamptis comes from the Greek verb anakamto , because the bracts envelop the flowers. The Greek name is Anakamtis, the rare flower. European and Mediterranean orchid, spreading throughout Greece. It was described in 1778 from Paris and its general area. A tall woody plant, with a height of 20-60 cm and 3-8 narrow lanceolate leaves.
Its habitat is wetlands, wet places, wet meadows and marshes at altitudes up to 1,600 m.
Flowers: inflorescence with 8-30 flowers in dark violet color. Plants with pink or white flowers are occasionally found. You will find it in bloom from April.
