Cephalanthera longifolia
Kefalanthiro damasoni is a Eurasian orchid with a wide distribution in mainland Greece and the islands.
The name damasonium comes from an unknown plant mentioned by the Roman writer Pliny.
Robust plant with a height of 15-60 cm. Leaves 2-5 oblong ovate, leathery, dark green. Its flowers are white , round, with an orange interior and yellow stripes. damasonium is differentiated from the similar and closely related Cephalanthera longifolia, by leaf comparison. The rarer Cephalanthera longifolia has longer, narrower leaves.
Its habitat is forests and shady places at altitudes up to 1,800 meters.
